Game Contribution to Wagering Requirements
Not all games count equally towards meeting wagering requirements. Each operator defines a contribution percentage for each game category. This means if you play a game that contributes less than 100%, you need to bet significantly more to meet the playthrough requirement.
Typical Contribution Percentages
The following are common contribution percentages found at UKGC-licensed operators:
- Slots (excluding progressive jackpots): 100%
- Scratch cards: 100%
- Table games (blackjack, roulette): 10–20%
- Video poker: 10–20%
- Live dealer games: 5–10%
- Progressive jackpot slots: 0–50%
- Poker (casino-based): 0%
Why Contributions Differ
Slots have a high house edge for the operator in the short term but are played very fast, meeting wagering requirements quickly. Table games have a lower house edge and slower play speed. Operators set lower contribution rates to balance risk.
